It is a common misconception that one human year is equal to seven dog years. Since dogs reach adulthood within the first couple of years of life, this is incorrect. The actual "formula" for converting "dog years" to "human years" is 10.5 dog years per human year for the first two years and then four dog years per human year each year after.
